Questions and answers

Is it safe? Can it break anything?

You choose what to clean up and see which items will be affected before anything is deleted. Caches, logs and temporary data are deleted permanently, while personal files, apps and their leftovers are moved to the Trash, so you can restore them. Cleanup starts only after you confirm.

Does MacCare Pro quit apps automatically?

No. MacCare Pro shows which apps put a load on your Mac and quits them only when you ask. Apps receive the standard quit request, just like with ⌘Q, so you can save your changes if the app supports it.

Where do deleted files go?

Personal files, large files, duplicates, apps and their leftovers are moved to the Trash, so you can restore them. Caches, logs, temporary data, browser data and developer tool data are deleted permanently, and so is the contents of the Trash if you choose to empty it. Before cleanup, you see which items will be affected.

What is “System Data” in Mac storage?

“System Data” is the macOS storage category for files that don’t belong to any other category. It can include caches, logs, device backups and developer tool data. MacCare Pro helps you find some of it and choose what to delete.

Why does the app need access to folders?

macOS restricts app access to some folders and data. To check their contents, MacCare Pro asks for the permissions it needs. The app explains what each permission is for, and you can revoke it in macOS settings.

Does MacCare Pro collect data?

MacCare Pro doesn’t collect user data, use analytics or show ads. To check for app updates, it sends the identifiers of your installed apps to Apple’s public service. The app makes no other network requests.
