Questions and answers
Why does MacCare Pro ask for access to folders?
macOS hides most folders from apps until you allow them. The Library folder lets MacCare Pro find caches, logs and app leftovers; the Applications folder lets it remove apps; the Home folder is used for large files, duplicates and developer caches. Full Disk Access adds Mail, Safari and the Trash.
How do I give or revoke a permission?
Open MacCare Pro, then Settings, then Permissions. Turn a folder on or off there. Full Disk Access is turned on in System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Full Disk Access; MacCare Pro restarts after you turn it on.
The scan did not find much. Why?
Smart Scan needs the Library folder to see anything. Allow it in the window that opens when you press Scan, or in Settings, then scan again.
Where do removed files go?
Personal files (Downloads, large files, duplicates, apps) are moved to the Trash, so you can restore them. Caches and logs are deleted.
Which macOS versions are supported?
macOS 14 and later.
