MacCare Pro

Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

At a glance

MacCare Pro is designed with privacy in mind.

Currently, MacCare Pro does not collect personal data or usage information. It has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics. We do not operate servers that receive your information.

Everything MacCare Pro finds and does happens on your Mac, except for the limited network requests described in this policy.

What MacCare Pro does on your Mac

MacCare Pro scans the folders you allow it to access to find caches, logs, app remnants, large files, duplicates, and developer tool data.

Nothing is removed until you press Clean. Personal files are moved to the Trash, while caches and logs are deleted.

MacCare Pro does not upload, transmit, or share the contents of your personal files.

Folder access

macOS only allows MacCare Pro to access folders after you grant permission.

MacCare Pro requests access to your Library folder and Applications folder (to remove apps). If you use developer tools, it may also request access to your Home folder.

You can also enable Full Disk Access in System Settings to allow MacCare Pro to check Mail, Safari, and the Trash.

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in MacCare Pro Settings or System Settings.

Information stored on your Mac

MacCare Pro stores a short history of your cleanups, your appearance preference, and certain cached data locally on your Mac to display results more quickly.

This information never leaves your Mac.

You can clear your cleanup history in Settings. Uninstalling MacCare Pro removes all data stored by the app.

Network requests

The Updates section checks whether newer versions of your apps are available.

To do this, MacCare Pro queries Apple’s public iTunes Lookup service (itunes.apple.com) for information about the apps installed on your Mac, sending each app’s identifier and your App Store country.

We do not receive this information. Apple handles these requests under its own privacy policy.

MacCare Pro makes no other network requests.

Analytics and diagnostics

Currently, MacCare Pro does not use third-party analytics services, collect usage statistics, or transmit diagnostic information to external servers.

In the future, we may introduce optional analytics and diagnostic features to help us understand how MacCare Pro is used, identify technical issues, and improve the application.

If we introduce these features, we will update this Privacy Policy before enabling them. We will explain what information is collected, how it is used, which third-party services process it, and how long it is retained.

Where required by applicable law or platform policies, we will request your consent before collecting this information. You will be able to decline or withdraw your consent without losing access to the core functionality of MacCare Pro.

We do not intend to collect the contents of your personal files or other sensitive information through analytics.

Third-party services

MacCare Pro currently uses Apple’s public iTunes Lookup service for app update information, as described above.

If we introduce additional third-party services, such as analytics or diagnostic providers, we will identify those services and explain what information they process in an updated version of this Privacy Policy.

Children

MacCare Pro is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as MacCare Pro evolves and new features are introduced.

If we make changes, we will update this page and the date above. If a change involves new data collection, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent where required.
